The food and beverage area for Kochi Domestic Terminal, presents airport dining through considered spatial design that prioritizes passenger experience and operational clarity. The project establishes a welcoming zone that caters to commercial efficiency with contemporary hospitality, transforming the typical experience into an engaging pause within the travel journey.
The ceiling features a sculptural installation of sinuous bands of light wood slats that undulate across the neutral gray plane above. This organic gesture introduces visual dynamism while organizing the space below. The flowing forms soften the typically rigid geometry of terminal architecture. Food service outlets are arranged along a continuous back wall, each maintaining its brand identity while contributing to a cohesive visual rhythm. Dark perforated panels unify the various franchises overhead, while transparent menu displays and backlit signage ensure legible communication. Strategic landscaping introduces biophilic elements through live trees and planters, improving the quality of the vast setting. Seating solutions employ varied typologies, curved concrete benches with integrated planting, freestanding tables and elevated bar-height zones, accommodating diverse dining preferences and eating times.
