Foxtrot Pub & Lounge

Siliguri, India

Bringing a mid-century tropical resort aesthetic to Siliguri, this rooftop restaurant delivers a refined and relaxed dining environment that leverages its level. The design balances privacy and openness through conscious material choices and spatial distinction responding to the transitioning atmosphere throughout the day.

The most captivating feature is the suspended circular planter – chandeliers descending from the ceiling. These biophilic installations bring in nature at an eye level without obstructing views. Walls feature vibrant hand-painted murals depicting stylized flora and fauna in jewel tones and their folk-art appeal adds character to the rather warm ambience. The material palette at large falls under tropical modernism through curved back natural cane dining chairs, terracotta and cream checkered flooring and wooden panels. Extending this language, the outdoor terrace houses steel pergola structures supporting fabric canopies, woven rattan furniture and a striking turquoise spiral staircase that in fact is a sculptural feature. A generous number of planters and landscaping soften the hard edges while maintaining clear skyline views.
