Sevilla Spanish Restaurant

The Claridges Hotel, New Delhi

This intimate fine-dining restaurant in The Claridges Hotel in New Delhi, conducts a sophisticated dialogue between the indoors and outdoors through its design. Responding to the tree canopies prevalent on site, it creates a multi-level dining experience that becomes a part of the existing foliage.

A double-height private dining area bathed in a warm glow showcases classic wrought-iron chandeliers with candle-style lighting establishing an old-world resemblance, while crisp white Outside, fabric draped cabanas scatter throughout the garden creating intimate dining rooms, each on its own podium with integrated lighting. The design and planning preserves a significant number of trees as breathing columns, their trunks uplighted to add to the setting. Rubble stone and tile paving patterns lead circulation paths while water features add another element of nature as part of the design vocabulary.

This intimate fine-dining restaurant in The Claridges Hotel in New Delhi, conducts a sophisticated dialogue between the indoors and outdoors

What emerges eventually is a dining experience blurring the lines between enclosure and expanse. There's a subtle drama in how the light shifts across the foliage as it sways with wind and in how conversations echo under branches. The design slows down enough to let nature take the lead and turn meals into indulgent and meaningful experiences.
