This vibrant dhaba is a celebration of the rich tapestry of Indian roadside dining culture through bold design and frisky material explorations. Capturing the essence of traditional highway eateries the space elevates the experience through a combination of motifs and colours.
Intentionally raw in its architecture the space uses exposed industrial elements combined with eclectic suspended chandeliers made of glass bottles tinted in red, green and purple. The concrete flooring below and visible ducting embrace an unexposed honesty referencing the rustic origins of dhabas and their widely known, fill-in built. License plate-inspired artworks, comical quotes and vintage signage adorn the walls evoking nostalgia for India’s extensive truck art. Ropes suspended on the walls create geometric patterns that frame the curated folk art and typographic murals. The open kitchen showcases gleaming brass vessels and terracotta utensils on shelving, making food preparation a part of the experience much like the experience while dining by the highway.
